Welcome

Welcome to Cerebral Mastication. Kinda like me, it sounds both rude and pretentious (when, in fact, it's just plain silly). I will treat this blog as a platform for my various rambling thoughts on all aspects of pop-culture to find an audience. An audience of one, most likely, but an audience, nonetheless.

Joan Didion wrote "In many ways writing is the act of saying I, of imposing oneself upon other people, of saying listen to me, see it my way, change your mind. Its an aggressive, even a hostile act." That quote will most definitely apply to my pompous pontifications.

Thanks for visiting, and keep sending me food for thought. Regular updates will start later on this week.

The link to your photo was the most interesting part of your post, mostly because it shows what my feelings are about you.

Hi Ali, your blog is proving to be as addictive as Roger Ebert's. Impressive, I must say; it puts me to shame and makes me wonder what I've been doing all my life. I look forward to many great reads.

Who was it who wrote, "I managed to see the entire show after all. I even took a photo of myself right next to the telly as Denzel announced the best film winners, but I can’t upload it to Blogger for some reason. Maybe Blogger doesn't accept fugly. Self-deprecation, thy name is Ali."

Ha! Fugly indeed! Women must be clamouring all over you! Proof of it would be the female mosquitoes which bothered you on that fateful October night. I mean, why would they bother you unless they WANT SOMETHING from you??

Still, I beg to differ from Rauf's point of view (sorry, Rauf). I think the most interesting part about your posts is the skill, sharpness and professional insights that you have brought to your writing. I find them very astute, whilst also very comprehensible; an emblem of good execution.

Now, now, Ali, don't fret about your hirsuteness, or the lack of it. It happens to the best of us.

Hirsuteness will be back in fashion one day! I just know it for sure!

Ali, you'll never be out of fashion. Just keep this up and it won't be long before you have legions and legions and legions of devoted followers, it would put Emperor Ming to shame.
